Applications
Zinc chloride is applied in various ways, for instance:
1. Chemical Industry
Zinc chloride is used as a catalyst or reagent in organic syntheses, including at the production of dyes and solvents.
2. Wood Sector
Zinc chloride is used as a wood preservative because of its fungicidal and insecticidal properties.
3. Cleaning Products Industry
Zinc chloride is used in industrial cleaners because of its strong degreasing power.
4. Metal Industry
In the metal industry, zinc chloride is used as a fluxing agent at galvanizing steel. It removes oxide layers and promotes adhesion of zinc to the metal surface.
5. Batteries
In zinc-carbon batteries, zinc chloride is used as an electrolyte because of its conductive and stabilizing properties.
