Description

Potassium ferricyanide, also known as Prussian red, is an inorganic compound belonging to the group of cyanocomplexes. It is a red, crystalline powder that is highly soluble in water. In commercial and industrial applications, it is known as a stable oxidizing reagent, suitable for use in analytical chemistry, water purification, Photography and Metalworking, among others.

Potassium ferricyanide is applied in various ways, for instance:

It is often used for the detection of iron(II) ions by forming a deep blue compound (Prussian blue or Turnbull’s blue).

Used at the precipitation of heavy metals from industrial wastewater.

3. Electronics & Engraving

As a component in etchants for circuit boards and other metal surfaces….

4. Photography

Traditionally used in photographic development processes because of its oxidative properties.
