Description
Citric acid (1AQ) is a naturally occurring, organic carboxylic acid compound best known for its wide application as a food additive, preservative and detergent. The term “1AQ” stands for “monohydrate” (one molecule of crystal water per molecule of citric acid). This type of citric acid is common in industry because of its good solubility and mild acidity. Commercially, it comes as a white, crystalline powder, easily soluble in water and applicable in various industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and cleaning.
