Description
Wheat fiber is a plant by-product created during the milling process of wheat (Triticum aestivum). They consist mainly of indigestible fiber components of the grain, including cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. Wheat fibers are widely used in the food industry, feed production and technical sectors because of their functional properties such as water retention, structure improvement and fiber enrichment .

Applications
Wheat fiber is applied in various ways, for instance:
1. Food Industry
Used as fiber enrichment in breads, crackers, breakfast cereals and bars. Or as t extural enhancer in meat products and meat substitutes. But also as a fat substitute in processed products and to increase water binding and stability in dough and filling systems.
2. Animal Feed Industry
Wheat fiber is used as a structural element in feeds for cattle, pigs and horses, as well as a filler and binder in animal feed mixes.
3. Pharmaceutical & cosmetic industry.
They are used ascarriers in supplements, cosmetics and pharmaceutical tablets.
4. Industrial Applications
Wheat fiber is used as a natural filler in bioplastics, compostable packaging. But also as a natural fiber component in building materials and textiles.
