Applications

Disodium phosphate 0aq is applied in various ways, for instance:

1. Food Industry

In the food industry, it is used as an emulsifier and stabilizer (as food additive E339(ii)), for example, at the production of cheese, sauces and milk products. It improves texture and keeps ingredients well mixed.

2. Pharmaceutical Industry

Disodium phosphate is used as a buffer and stabilizer in injectable solutions, eye drops and other pharmaceutical formulations. It helps maintain the pH of drugs and ensures longer shelf life.

3. Water Treatment

It is used to regulate pH in industrial water treatment systems, such as in cooling water circuits, boilers and other systems where scale formation may occur. It prevents scale formation by stabilizing calcium and magnesium levels in the water.

4. Cleaning Agents

Disodium phosphate is added to cleaning products, such as dishwashing detergents, to improve their effectiveness. It helps at removing scale and other mineral stains.

5. Laboratory Applications

It is used as a buffer solution in scientific experiments, especially in biochemical and microbiological analyses.
